These terms apply when you use the MotWise app and this website. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use MotWise.

The service

MotWise is a language-learning app that turns podcast dialogues into lessons with transcripts, vocabulary, grammar notes and quizzes. Some features are free and some require a paid subscription. We may add, change or remove features and content over time.

Your account

You can use MotWise as a guest or create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity under your account. Guest data that is not used for 30 days is deleted automatically. Sign in with an account if you want your progress kept.

Subscriptions and payments

• Premium plans are sold through Google Play and billed by Google. Prices and plan options are shown in the app before you buy.
• Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
• A lifetime plan, where offered, is a one-time purchase that unlocks premium features for as long as MotWise offers them.
• Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own refund policy.
• Deleting your MotWise account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the Play Store first.

Ads

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. Premium removes them.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service. In particular, do not try to break, overload or bypass its security or its payment checks, access other people's data, copy or resell the content, or use automated tools to scrape it.

Content and ownership

The lessons, audio, transcripts, translations, design and the MotWise name belong to MotWise or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable licence to use them inside the app to learn. You may not redistribute or republish them without our written permission.

Feedback you send us may be used to improve the app without obligation to you.

Learning results

MotWise is a study aid. We do not promise a particular level of fluency or any exam result.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep MotWise running but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.

Disclaimer and liability

MotWise is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use MotWise after a change means you accept it.
